Learn British English
British English
Available nowBritish English for everyday life in the United Kingdom.
How do I get better at speaking English?
Practice speaking it out loud, regularly, with immediate feedback on how you sound — not just more reading or grammar study. Spokn's story lessons give you real spoken practice: you answer questions out loud about a story, hear the natural way to say it, then rate your own attempt.
Is British English different enough to need its own lessons?
Yes — vocabulary, phrasing, and everyday scenarios (the GP, the landlord, the office) differ from American English. Spokn's British English curriculum is built around real UK situations, not generic textbook English.
The other half of the method: fill your day with real, everyday British English — not textbook dialogue, but how people actually talk, joke, and argue with each other. These are independent recommendations, picked for how naturally people speak in them.
